Yes. The conversational lane uses Google's Gemini Live audio-native model — the same generation of voice AI that powers Google's own demos. It hears your caller's accent, suburb name and tone in real time, so it can be interrupted, slow down, and pronounce Aussie place names naturally. Most callers don't realise they're speaking to AI. (Some legacy text-to-speech fallback paths are still used for edge cases such as long-form scripted messages.)
Yes — Vervox is designed and operated for Australian small business. Calls and data live in AWS Sydney (ap-southeast-2), pricing is in AUD, you get an AU local number on every plan, the AI defaults to your local timezone (AEST/AEDT, AWST, ACST, etc.), and our support team is AU-based. All prices on our site, dashboard, and invoices are in Australian dollars. Vervox is not currently registered for GST under the ATO small-supplier threshold, so prices are quoted ex-GST and our invoices do not include a GST line. Once we cross the registration threshold we will switch to GST-inclusive pricing and issue full tax invoices with GST itemised separately for Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks AU.
Yes. You can customise the greeting, choose from multiple AI voice personas, set business hours, configure after-hours messages, define what information gets collected, and adjust the conversation style — all from your settings page. Vervox admins can also make adjustments for you.
Yes — that's what Smart Booking does. The AI reads your service catalogue, checks live availability, can take a deposit via Stripe mid-call, and writes the confirmed booking to a Vervox-native calendar or your connected Google Calendar (if you connect one in Integrations). Travel-time padding and multi-staff balancing are available on the native calendar path; Google Calendar mode uses a single shared business calendar. Included on Pro+ plans (75 / 250 / 750 bookings per month on Pro / Business / Enterprise). Standalone add-on for Starter customers: $29/mo + $1 per booking over the included bundle.
Yes. Per-service deposits are configurable per service in the Smart Booking settings. When a caller books a deposit-required service, the AI texts them a secure Stripe checkout link during the call. The slot is held for up to 2 hours; if payment clears, the booking is confirmed automatically. If not, the slot is released.
The AI can book a whole series in one conversation — "every Tuesday at 10am for six weeks". Each occurrence is a real appointment linked to the series, so your customer can reschedule one without breaking the rest, and you can cancel the remaining series from the dashboard.
Yes. Define class schedules (Monday 6am HIIT, capacity 12) and the AI lists upcoming sessions, checks seats, enrols callers, and runs an SMS-offer waitlist when classes are full. Deposits are supported per-schedule using the same Stripe flow as 1:1 services.
Calls fall back to whatever you had before Vervox — your voicemail, an answering service, or just ringing. We monitor uptime in AWS Sydney with multi-AZ redundancy and publish incidents to status.vervox.ai. The same Twilio call-routing layer that powers Vervox is what falls back; you never lose the call entirely, you just lose the AI on that call.
Email is sent the moment the call ends, usually within seconds. Urgent and emergency calls also trigger an SMS by default to keep your inbox quiet on routine leads; you can opt-in to SMS for every lead with daily caps to protect you from notification storms. If you install the dashboard to your home screen, you'll also get a web push notification — even when the tab is closed. And if you forget to ring a lead back, a stale-lead reminder nudges you (15 min for emergencies, 1h for urgent, 4h for normal) so nothing falls through the cracks.
No. All plans are month-to-month with no lock-in contracts. You can also start with our Pay As You Go plan — a low monthly base plus a per-minute rate for answered calls. Cancel anytime from your settings page.
Yes, we ask for a credit card during signup to activate your trial, but you won't be charged for 30 days. We send a reminder before your trial ends — please cancel from your settings page before the 30 days are up if you don't want to continue. We don't want you on a plan you don't need.
